AARON J, Graduate of the December 2014 Wind Turbine Technician Academy, Veteran of the U.S. Army
I am fortunate enough to have been hired with many of the students in my class and we get to work together and watch each other grow and excel. We all have our own success stories already and are leaping to the top of the ladder in our companies and at our sites.
I will recommend to anyone thinking of a career in wind to look at and consider A TRUE LEADER in education for the wind industry: KVCC!!
The Wind Turbine Technician Academy has been approved by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs for VA Educational Benefits since 2011. With a 96% alumni placement rate in the wind industry, KVCC's training center has become the preferred choice for veterans seeking a competitive force to join.
Kalamazoo Valley Community College has been designated a 2015 Military Friendly® School and is a charter member of the Student Veterans of America Association.
Our Academy is the only competency-based program in the United States which has earned both the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) Seal of Approval and Certification by the Bildungszentrum für Erneuerbare Energien (BZEE).
In early 2015, KVCC partnered with ENSA North America to provide Safe Access and Rescue training for persons working at heights. KVCC became a College instructional Partner (CIP) and has since become one of two colleges in the CIP program to also deliver the Global Wind Organisation™ Basic Safety Training (GWO_BST) 4 module course. In addition to these programs, KVCC also delivers the ENSA Telecom Authorized Climber and Rescuer training to members of the telecom community.
