Utility Line Worker Academy
The Kalamazoo Valley Community College Utility Line Worker Academy provides training and certification to prepare students for high demand, high paying career opportunities as line workers or linemen. A lineman builds, maintains and repairs overhead and underground power lines. Linemen are employed by utility companies, local municipalities, local cooperatives and contractors who service power lines for transmission line owners. Line work is performed in an outdoor environment subjected to all types of weather any time of day or night.
Our Unique Training Model
The Utility Line Worker Academy is a hands on training program, designed to ensure graduates have demonstrated knowledge and skills essential to perform effectively and safely as an apprentice level line worker. The training will equip you with the skills to become a useful member of an electric line crew.
